My mother’s deep love of Jewish music goes back to her earliest childhood. Her fondest moments were sitting in the pews of her synagogue, listening to the Hazzan chant. Yet it wasn’t until her mid 40s, with the encouragement of my father, that she found the confidence to actively embrace a Cantorial and then later a Rabbinic career. She was mentored by some of the finest Hazzanim in Los Angeles, graduating from the Academy For Jewish Religion California with a Master’s Degree in Sacred Music. She is also a member of the Cantor’s Assembly, a major step for women within the Jewish faith. She is also a Reiki Master incorporating Kabbalah into her healing work. As a child of the Holocaust my mom has dedicated her life to helping manifest the Divine in this world through the richness and beauty of art and music.
