My older sister always wanted to be a dancer. I attended countless performances watching her dance her way through high school and college until we both were in a serious car accident. The resultant bone damage she suffered ended her hopes of dancing professionally. But, like our mother and grandmothers, she has a love for fashion and is a trend forecaster for a merchandising consulting firm.
The one thing we always shared, and still do, is collecting vintage clothing and accessories. It was great fun having an older sister to take me shopping at LA’s coolest vintage stores and flea markets – all of which got me hooked as a pre-teen.
